Don was the devoted and loving husband of 62 years to Leah I. Adams of Kelseyville. Loving father of Steven Adams and his wife Barbara of Woodland and the late David Adams. Loving grandfather of Jeanne Kenyon and Mark Adams both of Woodland. Loving great-grandfather of Ashley Kenyon, Jenna Ciralo and John Adams. He was preceded in death by his parents Wallace and Ida Adams.
A native of Petaluma, Don was a member of the Buckingham Golf and Country Club in Kelseyville. He attended and graduated from St. Vincent's Elementary School and Petaluma High School. He later served in the U.S. Army in the European Theater during W.W. II. After his military obligation, he returned to Petaluma where he worked at the family-owned "Adams Paper Box Factory." Later he co-owned Adams-Traba Lumber Company working for over 20 years. Don was an active sports enthusiast, participating in many sports and excelled in golf, being the Petaluma Golf & Country Club and the Buckingham Golf and Country Club champion three times. He had three "Holes in One" during his golfing career. Don will be loved and missed by all who knew him.
Friends and family are invited to attend the graveside services Thursday, Dec. 15 at 11 a.m. at Cypress Hill Memorial Park, 430 Magnolia Ave., Petaluma. Calling hours at the Parent-Sorensen Mortuary & Crematory, Magnolia Ave. and Keokuk St. are on Thursday from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Those who prefer may contribute to Hospice of Lakeport, 1717 So. Main St., Lakeport, CA 95453 in memory of Donald F. Adams.
