Virginia Knight Obituary

Virginia Ann Reed Knight

Funeral services for Virginia Ann Reed Knight, 75, of Choudrant, LA, will be held at 10 a.m. on October 28, 2013 at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Ruston, LA with Dr. Michael Hawley officiating. Burial will be in the Roselawn Cemetery in Calhoun, LA under the direction of Owens Memorial Funeral Home.

Mrs. Knight was born in Wilmont, AR on August 26, 1938. The Lord called her home on October 26,2013 in Glenwood Regional Medical Center in West Monroe , LA

She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She dedicated her life to serving God and was an active member of Emmanuel Baptist church. She was an encouragement and inspiration to many during her life and through her illness. God provided her with caring doctors, nurses,friends, and chemotherapy workers during this time whom she truly adored. She had a strong Christian faith and spent many hours volunteering to help others.

Survivors include her husband, J.C. Knight of Choudrant, LA, her daughter Cheryl Sullivan, of Ruston, LA and her daughter, Renee Connelly and husband Todd Connelly of Magnolia, AR, her grandchildren Jake Connelly, Katie Connelly, Joshua Sullivan, and her sisters Reeda Sisson of Broken Arrow, OK, and Doris Day of Sterlington, LA, and many nieces, nephews, and beloved friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dave and Claudie Reed, of Bastrop, LA and an infant daughter.

Pall bearers are Joe Pittman, Russell Collins, John Roebuck, Lamar Spillers, Nolan Coleman, and Harvey Stevenson.

In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to Emmanuel Baptist Church or American Cancer Society.

JC and family I am so sorry for your loss, met Ann at Wilmot school while in high school,Wilmot was hosting a Nat. Honor Society Tea for Portland NHS, which we both were members, Later met at Girls State,We both repensented our schools. Little did I know she would marry one of my schoolmates,plus I would marry someone her family had family tie with. Ted Sisson is her nephew also My husband Leon Sivils second cousin. Sister Reeda was my first grade teacher at Dry Bayou near Wilmot,moved from there in second grade. Ann and I had a wonderful time when we were together, wish we had stayed closer.J.C you and daughters have my prayers. Loved Loved Loved Mrs Knight. She was my other Mother at College. Hate I lost touch. Such great memories with the Knight Family. Her contagious smile is shining in heaven! Hugs and prayers to Cheryl, Renee, and Mr. Knight.
