Just now hearing about 'Uncle' Jake's passing. One of my earliest memories is of being tossed in the air by Jake and thinking I was going to hit the ceiling! He and my father were tight friends forever. They were always building airplanes in the garage with me sitting on the step watching. He was a kind, quiet gentle man.

Jake was the great friend and one of one of the nicest guy I ever knew...Always ready to help in any way he could, most of the time he offered before I knew I needed help.. We would fly in his Luscombe with one flying and the other around the other because it was to crowed to have both our arms ar our sides. We had fun!

Jake and I went to Woodland Hi Together. We enjoyed Flying Like a Lot of Young Guys Back Then. I remember one weekend all the guys from Knights Landing (The Knights Landing Fabric Fighters) were all out having fun. All of our planes were slow “Puddle Jumpers.” Piper Cubs, Aeroncas, T-Crafts and Here Comes Jake. He had just finished his plane, I think it was a Stitts. He made a “High Speed Pass” over the field and everyone either said or thought, “Who The Hell Was That?” Jake set the plane down and we were all over it like Ants on a Strawberry Sandwich.
I don’t think I have seen Jake since I left Knights Landing/Woodland in 1965. Maybe at the Yolo County Fair, I just don’t remember.
Great Guy, a Lot Of Fun.
Jake, Rest In Peace, you are in GOD’s Hands now.
