Jerrold Blickle Obituary
Jerrold William Blickle died at the age of 78 on Tuesday, May 13. Jerry was born and raised in Woodland. After graduating from Woodland High School in 1953, he served two years in the US Army. Jerry founded Blickle's Canvas on Kentucky Ave and managed it successfully from 1969 until his retirement in 1998.
Jerry was a member of the Woodland Elks Club, Carlton Club, and the Fliers Club, and firmly believed the 19th hole was as much a part of the game as the first 18. Jerry enjoyed woodworking and appreciated nature and the outdoors. He vacationed throughout his life with family and friends at Donner Lake, Bodega Bay and Dillon Beach. Jerry had a lifelong affair with hot dogs, saltine crackers, and deviled eggs. He never owned a foreign car.
Jerry was a proud husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his beloved wife, Maryann (Susie) Blickle of 53 years, and three children, Eric Blickle and wife, Sabrina and their two children, Addy and Sidney, Amy Ryan and husband Eric, and their two children, Jack and Ally, Sara Irby and husband, Scott and their two children, Kyle Childress and Karee. He is also survived by his three sisters, Mavis Timothy, Eliose Willis and husband, Howard, and Doris Jansen.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred E. and Leona M. Blickle and his two brothers, Don Blickle and Alfred (Bud) Blickle.
A memorial service in celebration of Jerry's life is scheduled May 30, at the Fliers Club beginning at noon. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Jerry's name to Care Car or Meals on Wheels.

Jerry was an old and treasured friend. We spent many hours working together, hauling hay for Timothy and Blockle, during our high school years. My deepest sympathy to Suzy and family.He will certainly be missed.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the family. I had the privilege of growing up across the street from Jerry. He did so much for us neighbor kids that he definitely made a big impact in my life. He always had a smile and always had time for us kids. I definitely learned to enjoy dove hunting because of him. He truly will be missed.

Jerry's Family, I called him, "Mr. Personality" He will be missed. After he was released from the Hospital, having major surgery, he came back to the hospital a few days later, to visit me, telling me I would be just fine, just like him. My prayers to the family.
