Seth Bridges Obituary

Seth Bridges was born in Woodland, CA to Sidney Bridges and Carolyn Bridges (Short) on Oct 10, 1975, and passed away on January 17, 2024, after a brief illness.

Most of his childhood was spent in Knights Landing down the street from his Grandparents Edward and Wilma Short, whom he loved and adored. When he was 11 years old the family moved out to a house on the Sacramento River just north of Knights Landing.

Seth attended Woodland High School and Sacramento State University for Mechanical Engineering. In 1997, he began working as a shop helper for American International Manufacturing, and in 2009 with his brother John and two other partners (Leslie and Mike) became part owners. He was proud of his work but found the most enjoyment in helping his coworkers and community with projects that included the Woodland Library, Woodland Christian, Yolo Fair Grounds, and Dinner on Main. You can hardly drive around Woodland without seeing Seth’s work in our community.

In 2001, Seth met the love of his life Mamie. They made their life for six years in Yuba City before moving back to Woodland. Though they never had children, there were plenty around. He loved and was so proud of his niece Maddy and nephew Garrett.

Everyone who met Seth liked him. It was hard not to, he was easy to talk to, engaging and nonjudgmental. He would absolutely hate all the attention he is getting. He really did not know how much he affected so many lives and how there is a piece of their hearts missing now that he is gone.

Seth is survived by his wife Mamie Bridges, brother John Bridges (Jenny), father Sidney (Donna) Bridges, mother Carolyn Bridges, niece Maddy Bridges, nephew Garrett Bridges, uncle Sam Bridges (Joann), aunt Margie Riley, many cousins, godchildren (Jayde, Olivia, Amy, Violet) and his Maine Coons Chewie and Tank.

A celebration of life will be held on Feb. 10th, 2024, at 12:00 pm in the Home Arts Building, Yolo County Fair Grounds 1250 E. Gum Ave. Woodland, CA 95695.

He was my cousin, and even though he was younger I always looked up to him. He was the smartest guy in the room, but never bragged. I would call himnand ask for advice on how to smoke meat, which he was great at. He was a wonderful human being and he is missed, always. Love you cuz.
