Yvonne Jean Jull Johnson died Saturday, May 13, in the company of her sons at her home in Woodland. Born on Wednesday, Dec. 15, 1937 in Woodland, she graduated from Woodland High School in 1955. She married her husband, Kenneth Edward Johnson in 1956, and they lived in a number of towns in California before retiring to Woodland; they were married 47 years until his death in 2003.

Yvonne was a floral designer for many years, and her eye for design and color also took flight in her embroidery and quilting; she shared this delight for many years as a volunteer quilting teacher at the Woodland Senior Center. She never ceased being fascinated with the world and was an inveterate gleaner of knowledge, particularly of nature and of the manufacturing of goods. She also had a wickedly quick sense of humor and a deep love for her family, both human and feline.

She was predeceased by her husband; her parents Anna Marguerite Noel Jull and Harley Edward Jull, and her son-in-law, George Morgan. She is survived by her sisters, Judy Erickson (Harlow [Eric]) and Sharon Jull, both of Sacramento, and her sons, David Jull-Patterson (Stephen) of San Francisco and Michael E. Johnson of San Jose; grandchildren, TC Smith, Brandon Patterson, Brittany Reed, and Marcus Reed-Quinn.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 3, at the Woodland Cemetery, 800 West Street, with a gathering at her home directly after the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to KVIE Public Television, 2030 W. El Camino Ave., Sacramento, CA 95833.
