Anthony Wade

Anthony 'Tony' Wade ROSENDALE - Anthony Wade, age 81, died at home Saturday, Jan. 29, 2011 surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Wade was born in Elizabeth, N.J. on June 13, 1929, the son of the late Matthew and the late Mary (Hill) Wade. Mr. Wade married Florence Miskowitz on July 22, 1951 in St. Patrick's Church, Elizabeth, N.J. He enjoyed being with his family, tinkering with cars, attending classic car shows, telling stories, and looking for bargains at local yard sales. Mr. Wade was a veteran of the Army Air Force. He was previously employed at several area businesses, including Huck Manufacturing, which transferred him to New York, Benedictine Hospital, Shire Reeve Associates and Power Test in Ulster and Dutchess Counties. Mr. Wade also served on the Town of Rosendale Water and Zoning Boards. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Florence Miskowitz Wade, five daughters: Karen Wade Johnson and Kathleen Wade of Rosendale, Deborah Purvin of Kingston, Patricia DeFelicis of Myrtle Beach, and Lynn Mary Waddell of High Falls; two sons, Anthony S. Wade of Maybrook, and Joseph T. Wade of Rosendale; nine grandchildren, Keebie Edenholm, Lisa McDermott, Dacia Waddell, Jeffrey Waddell, Melissa DeFelicis, Jerry DeFelicis, Trina Wade, Angela Wade and Alyson Wade; great-grandchildren Brandon McDermott, Connor McDermott, Alexa Rose DeFelicis, Jerry DeFelicis, and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Wade was predeceased by a son, William Joseph, five brothers and three sisters, grandson, Robert A. Waddell, and great-grandson, Christopher Huckell. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, Feb. 3, 2011 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Copeland Funeral Home, Inc., 162 South Putt Corners Rd., New Paltz, 12561. The funeral will be Friday, Feb. 4, 2011 at 11 a.m. at St. Peter's Church, Rosendale where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.
