Babette M. Krajicek NEW PALTZ- Babette M. “Betty” Krajicek, 90, a resident of the Village of New Paltz, passed away on Saturday, April 12, 2014, at home, in the Village of New Paltz. Born in Saugerties, on Jan. 10, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Charles P. and the late Marie (Spindler) Staats. On Aug. 7, 1943, at the New Paltz Reformed Church, she was joined in marriage to Joseph S. Krajicek, until his passing on Nov. 3, 1991. She graduated from New Paltz High School. She worked as a bank teller before raising four children. Later she worked as a library assistant at the Duzine Elementary School until her retirement. Babette was a member of the VFW, Brannen van-den-Berg Post # 8645, ladies auxiliary, and a member of the New Paltz Reformed Church and various committees at the church. Surviving are three sons and daughter-in-laws, Thomas Krajicek and his wife Sally, of Renton, Wash., Robert Krajicek and his wife, Ingrid, of New Paltz, and Donald Krajicek and his wife, Carol Ann, of Fort Pierce, Fla.; nine grandchildren, Jennifer Krajicek of Seattle, Wash., Kimberly Millikin of Bothell, Wash., Korri Krajicek of St. Petersburg, Fla., Bradley Krajicek of Tyler, Texas, Kyle Krajicek, Wayne Childs of Rochester, Mark Childs of Maine, Kristen Lapp of Leeds, and Tara Farina; and 13 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Joseph, Babette was predeceased by a daughter, Kathleen Farina on Jan. 17, 2013 and her brother, Charles Staats. Cremation took place at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery. Graveside funeral services will be held on Sunday, April 27, 2014, at 10 a.m. at New Paltz Rural Cemetery. The family asks that donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.
