CONNELLY- Charles H. "Chuck" Wiley Jr.,54, of Millbrook Dr., Connelly, Town of Esopus, N.Y., passed away at home while in the comforting presence of his loving family on Sunday, April 25, 2021, following a brief battle with stage 4 cancer. He was born in Peekskill, N.Y., on Jan. 22, 1967; a son of the late Charles Wiley and Patricia (D'Amato) O'Toole. Chuck was a stay-at-home dad, proudly raising his children. He was always involved in their activities including being a Cub Scout Leader for Pack 26 in Port Ewen, coaching both PEAA soccer, and baseball at the Metropolitan Knothole league, as well as bowling in the Father & Son League. During his limited downtime he enjoyed yardwork and working on cars, especially his 1970 Nova. Most of all, Chuck was a rock and roll connoisseur, dedicated to music, especially the Prince of Darkness, Ozzy Osbourne, who he actually met backstage in 2018. Chuck is survived by his wife of 17 years, Denise A. (Wells) Wiley, whom he met over 27 years ago; children, Britney Blauvelt, and her husband Gerrit, of Tillson, Eric Heins, and his wife Toni, of Accord, Brianna Wiley of Connelly, Christian Wiley of Connelly; family member, Eli "A1" Burham of Kingston; and very special aunts, Stevie Greenert of Plattekill, and Peggy Sgorbissa of Beacon; along with other aunts and uncles. Two brothers, nieces, nephews,, and cousins also survive. Most paramount to Chuck were his six grandchildren, who he absolutely loved and adored and were his world, LilyAnn and Josiah Blauvelt, Aydenn, Ethan, Brysen and Abel Heins. He will be sorely missed by his pets, Ozzy, Sally, Linus, and Patty. In addition to his parents he is predeceased by a brother and several aunt and uncles. The family will receive friends at the Gilpatric-VanVliet Funeral Home, 339 Broadway, Ulster Park, Town of Esopus, on Wednesday, April 28, 2021, from 4 to 7 p.m. The service at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Paul Brennan, will be private. Final prayers and burial at Montrepose Cemetery on Thursday, April 29, 2021, at 12 p.m. will be open to the public.
