Daniel C. Lewis ROSENDALE- Daniel C. Lewis, 63, of Rosendale passed away on Friday, Feb. 1, 2019, at Health Alliance Hospital in Kingston. He was born in Kingston, Feb. 17, 1955; a son of the late Clyde and Joan Herd Lewis and was a lifelong area resident. Dan was a 1973 graduate of Rondout Valley High School and also a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park. He was a wholesale food salesman for many years and currently employed by Ginsberg’s Foods in Hudson, N.Y. He especially enjoyed his grandchildren along with his job, numerous trips to the Post Office, his Corvette, and keeping up his property. Surviving are his life partner, Linda Hendrix; a son, Daniel Lewis, Jr., and daughter-in-law, Samantha of Kingston; two brothers, Charles Lewis of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and Mark Lewis (fiance Milagros Ramos) of New Jersey; six grandchildren; and a niece, Kimberly Lewis. Also the love of his life, his canine companion Ozzy. Visitation for family and friends will be Tuesday Feb. 5, 2019, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the George J. Moylan Funeral Home Inc., 2053 Route 32, Rosendale. At 7 p.m. following the visitation Rev. Arlene Dawber will officiate his funeral service. Cremation will be held privately. In lieu of flowers memorial donations are requested to Ulster County SPCA, 20 Wiedy Road, Kingston, N.Y., 12401.
