Saugerties, NY – Daniel J. Valk of Saugeties died Friday, September 30, 2022 as a result of a motor vehicle accident. He was 26 years old. Born July 15, 1996 in Kingston, he was the son of Timothy Valk and Tonya Mattice Valk. After graduating Saugerties High School he served full time as a specialist in the NY National Guard. He was employed by County Waste and formerly worked for the Town of Saugerties Parks and Recreation Department. Dan was a member of the Saxton Fire Company and Arthurs Knights Motorcycle Club. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his fiancé, Baily Young; his sons, Mason Connor Valk and Waylon Peter Valk; his grandfather, Gordon Mattice; his brother Andrew Valk; andby many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was pre-deceased by his brother TJ. A funeral service will be held 10:00 AM Sunday, October 9, 2022 at Buono Funeral Service, Inc., in Saugerties. Friends may call Friday and Saturday from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm at Buono Funeral Service. Interment will follow immediately in Mount Marion Cemetery.
