Thank you Mr. Warner for deciding to enlighten and inspire young minds as a teacher! The impression you left on so many is deep... you were always a source of support, helping to guide me (us) to discover ourselves, and the best way to fit into the sometimes unyielding world around us.
I know many of your former students will feel the loss as I do... and warmly appreciate your role in our development.
My condolences to the family and close friends, to my classmates, and to our community overall as we discover the world again without his vibrant presence!

I remember when i came back from Iraq and Dennis asked me to come and talk on the radio show about this and that. He was such a good interviewer and never the type to ask the wrong questions or "harder" subject questions. He kept it simple and made it more like a peaceful conversation. Immediatley after he took me out to breakfast and we talked for a while longer.
There are alot of things i will never forget about Dennis. He was a fine example as a teacher and mentor for all students in Ellenville that had the honor to pass through his door.
See you on the other side Dennis

I got to truly know Dennis several years ago when I volunteered to help in the TV station to help him get the ads on the TV in a timely manner for all the organizations who wrote in. Besides learning how to use the equipment, I learned many things from Dennis. He had a well of knowledge that seemed to have no end to its depth. Believe me when I say how much I learned from him about life in general. I do miss our little chats, Dennis. You were a true friend and I will miss you dearly. My sympathies to Iris and your children. God Bless. Carol Distel

With my deepest sympathy to the dearest and best teacher I knew as Mr.Warner...you truly were the best teacher, advocate, father figure to many, counselor, and so much more... I will never forget the personal bibliographies you had each of us make in our senior year in fact my mother still has a copy of mine. You made us think! You made us reach deep into our souls and find who we were and who we aspired to be. Today I can look back at that and remember oh how I hated having to write a ten page paper about myself but how grateful I am of you for showing me a a path, and a way to build character and self esteem and very much be a part of who I am today. You will be missed! You were and always will be the greatest teacher EHS ever had! My prayers go out to your family and friends may you rest peacefully and you'll be one of the coolest angels I know :)

I am fortunate to have had the opportunity to spend time with Dennis Warner. His curiosity and particularly the earth tones of his voice will stay with me for the rest of my life. He was a nurturing spirit and a good man and always helped me to find good thoughts through his questions. His love and knowledge of music and the arts were not only entertaining but enlightening, and I thank not only the good lord for placing him on this earth but Iris for sharing him with us in their retirement.

Add me to the list of grateful students!! Dennis was one of a kind. He was my Cinema teacher in 1976. He assigned us to watch, "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest," and I still think of him when anyone mentions that movie. We had many good laughs in his class. Rest in peace, Dennis, and thanks for the fond memories!

After learning one of the best teachers of not only Ellenville school but I may say the world pasing Not only was i saddened I also was brought back to my days as one of Mr. Warner's students. How cool i thought it was when he asked us to write a essay telling him what grade we deserved and why. I remember the day he introduced me to one of my fav movies The Deer Hunter, but the thing I'll remember the most was his smile because I never have seen his face with out one and I'm sure he is smiling right now seeing how many of his past students truly loved him. My thoughts are with him and his friends and family.
