Gilbert “Gil” Trnka SAUGERTIES- Gilbert “Gil” Trnka, died Saturday, Aug. 20, 2016, at his residence. He was born in Saugerties on June 28, 1932 to the late Otto and Bertha Hopf Trnka. Gil was a lifelong resident of High Woods and the owner operator of Quality Fabrications until 1991. He also started Storage 4U. He had an excavating and trucking company, which built two mobile home parks as well as many older roads throughout High Woods. He enjoyed a full life and even had a book written about him. He enjoyed boating and was a lifetime member of the Saugerties Power Boat Assoc. and the N.R.A. Survivors include his children, Jimmy (Beth) Smith, Chris (Tammy Reynolds) Trnka, John (Olivia) Yonnetti, Susan Trnka and Jeanna (Dave Spaulding) Stoutenburg all of Saugerties; grandchildren, Tiffany, Wyatt, Dustin, Brandon, Hannah, Nicholas, Violet, Paige, Lillian and Madeline; great-grandchildren, Emily, Noah and Joseph; and many nieces nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by three wives, the former Frances Sheeder, Dody Chaplin, and Valerie Osbourne. His Funeral Service will be held Friday 10 a.m. at the Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home Inc., corner of John and Lafayette Sts., Saugerties. Burial will follow in the Mt. Marion Cemetery.
