Janet Glendenning Loop, 87, died December. 30, 2020, at Cortland (N.Y.) ParkNursing Home. Born on May 31, 1933, in Gardner, Massachusetts., she was a graduate of Gardner High School and lived in Saugerties for 50 years, retiring in the 1990s from Red Hook Central Schools, where she was the middle-school nurse. Loop Janet was a member of the Saugerties Dutch Reformed Church for 50 years; a member of the Saugerties Monday Club for more than 30 years; a volunteer with the Girl Scouts of Ulster County for more than 25 years; and a volunteer in the restoration of the Saugerties Lighthouse. She was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Lloyd Mead Loop Jr; and her parents, Herman and Vera Glendenning. Survivors include her daughter and son- in-law, Kirstin and John Dobbs of Townsville, Queensland, Australia; her son and daughter- in-law, Mead and Jill Loop of Ithaca, N.Y.; and three grandchildren, McKenna Loop, Isabelle Loop and Cassandra Loop. Mead Family
I'm so sorry to hear that Janet had passed away. I never got to meet Janet but we wrote to each other. I was working on my family genealogy and found that she was related on the McIntosh side of my family and she had done a lot of work. Janet had sent me information that was a big help to me she was so kind. We always hoped to meet but that never happened.

I am very sad to hear of Janet's passing . I worked at Cortland Park Rehabilitation shortly but became very familiar with Janet. I loved spending time with her. I used to have her come and sit at the desk with me so I could keep an eye on her. I loved to see her smile when sometimes in the evening I would go for a walk with her in the hallways and I'd sing Patsy Cline's "I go out walking" She always had a big smile. One time I even had my husband and children visit so I could introduce them to her. I pray her sweet soul rest in peace and she is reunited with her husband❣

Mead and family,
I am deeply saddened to learn that Janet has passed away. She was very dear to me when I was employed at Cortland Care Center as her nurse and I remember how much she would light up when you would visit and saw how much you guys loved her. Janet will always hold a special place in my heart.
