Jerome J. “Jerry” Lakowitz KINGSTON - Jerome J. “Jerry” Lakowitz of Albany Avenue died Saturday Oct. 18, 2014 at home. Born in Brooklyn, he was a son of the late Lawrence and Lillian (Stein) Lakowitz. Jerry served in the United States Army, was employed as a registered nurse at HealthAlliance Hospital Broadway Campus working in the emergency room and detox, enjoyed boxing, working out at the YMCA and running. If Jerry really liked something, he would always say it was “slamin”. He was a longtime friend of Bill W. Surviving is his daughter, Nicole Kriney and her husband John; his son, Adam Lakowitz and his wife Ana; his twin sister, Rebecca Porter and her husband Bob; his grandchildren, Deliliah, Zane, Spencer, Jeremy and Ariella. Funeral arrangements are under the guidance of the Joseph V. Leahy Funeral Home, Inc., 27 Smith Avenue. www.jvleahyfh.com Friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10 to 12 p.m. A service will be held 12 p.m. at the funeral home, Cantor Bob Cohen officiating. Burial at the Veteran’s Section of the New Paltz Rural Cemetery.
