Born May 9, 1946 in Schwarzenbach, Germany, he was the son of the late Joseph Fastman and the late Diana Rosenrauch Fastman. In November of 1980 he married the former Linda Auerbach. Jerry was an avid sports fan, especially the NY Yankees and Giants. He loved to play sports with his grandsons. Always active and a self-taught skier, Jerry also enjoyed golf, tennis and sailing. He has a captain’s certification for watercraft and sailed many seas with Linda and also with his sailing club. Since childhood, he was a car enthusiast, annually attending car shows with friends and family and accompanying his motorcycle club on annual trips. Jerry’s family and friends, as well has having fun, were always a priority. In addition to his wife, survivors include his children, Harley Fastman and his wife Robin of Roslyn, NY Leslie Stern and her husband Jordan of Woodstock, NY and Aaron Fastman of Stowe, VT; his grandsons Alec, Eli and Joel Fastman, Jacob and Noah Stern, and Ezra and Avery Fastman; his sister Lori Meyers and her partner David Scheichet of Irvington, NY; and his brother-in-law M. Richard Auerbach and his wife Lisa of Coral Springs, FL. Several nieces and nephews and many dear friends also survive. Funeral services will be held 12:00 Noon Thursday, October 21at Buono Funeral Service, Inc., Main Street, Saugerties, NY. Rabbi Jonathan Kligler of the Woodstock Jewish Congregation will officiate. Due to COVID 19, masks will be required to be worn at the Funeral Service. Burial will follow immediately in Montrepose Cemetery in Kingston.
