HURLEY-Joseph L. Newkirk, 65, of Hurley, NY, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 6, 2020 at home in Hurley, N.Y. He was born June 10, 1955 in Kingston, N.Y. and was a graduate of New Paltz High School, Class of 1973. Joseph was a truck and bus driver for many years, having driven for the Department of Corrections, Loop Transit, Mountainview Coach Lines, Mulligan, and Birnie Bus Service. Joseph fondly remembered his high school days playing football in jersey #56. He was an avid Yankee fan. However, most of all he loved cars and motorcycles. On a nice day you could always find him fishing or driving around in his car listening to music. Joseph was predeceased by his father, Stanley Newkirk and his sister, Susan Newkirk. Joseph is survived by his mother, Joyce (Seymour) Newkirk of Rifton, his son, Joseph Newkirk and his wife Sage of Kingston, his grandchildren, Austin, Nathaniel, Garrett, and Mackenzie, his brother, Daniel Newkirk and his wife Marcia of Hurley, his sister, Trisha Graff and her husband Rick of the Town of Ulster, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.
