Mildred Butler Obituary

Mildred A. "Midge" Butler MILLERTON- Mildred A. "Midge" Butler, 70 of Millerton, New York died Friday March 11, 2011 at the Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. Born in Kingston on June 12, 1940, she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Jessie (Haley) Lord. Midge had been employed as a cashier for the Grand Union in Millerton. Prior to that she worked for the Schrade Knife Manufacturer in Ellenville and various local garment and pocketbook manufacturers in the Kingston area. She was a collector of Betty Boop memorabilia and enjoyed playing bingo. Surviving is her husband, Raymond I. Butler of Millerton; her sons, Ronald "Ron" Santosky and his companion Laura Beck of Accord and William "Billy Bob" Planthaber of Millerton; a sister Emma Dammier of Kingston; brothers, Andrew Lord of Port Ewen and William Haley of Kingston; grandsons, Adam and Daniel Santosky; step-grandchildren, Hunter and Sarah Beck and great-grandson, Julian Santosky. A sister, Alberta Longhi and a brother Robert Lord both died previously. Arrangements are by the Joseph V. Leahy Funeral Home, Inc. 27 Smith Avenue (www.jvleahyfh.com). Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. Cremation will take place at Wiltwyck Crematory. Expressions of sympathy in lieu of flowers may be made in the form of contributions to the family to defray expenses.
