Peter J. Kunz HIGH FALLS- Peter J. Kunz, of High Falls, passed away in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family on Monday, May 4, 2015. He was 71 years old. Peter was born on Aug. 30, 1943 in Germany; he was the son of Johanna and Oskar Kunz. Mr. Kunz was a successful special effects technician and was a member of IATSE Local 52. He retired from the film industry in 2013. Peter was an artist at heart and his creations can be seen throughout his home, studio and on his property. Peter is survived by his wife Penelope “Penny” Belknap Kunz whom he married on May 16, 1976; his children, Cara Taylor of Pennsylvania, Johann J. Kunz of New Paltz, Rowan F. Kunz of High Falls; his sister, Heidi Wetzel of Maryland; four grandchildren; and one great-grandson. A celebration of his life will be held on Sunday ,May 10, 2015, from 4 to 5 p.m. immediately followed by a potluck and music at Peter and Penny’s home in High Falls, N.Y.
