Rita M. Greklek

Rita M. Greklek JACKSONVILLE, FLA.- Rita M. Greklek passed away April 9, 2012 at Memorial Hospital, Jacksonville, Fla. She was born in Queens, N.Y. as Rita Cassino. Rita became a world traveler while employed with Pan Am airlines and subsequently at Aer Lingus (Irish airlines) serving as a tour planner. She married John Greklek. They moved to Woodstock, then to Kingston, where they resided for more than 25 years and adopted two children. Once her children were grown, Rita found employment at Chambers Elementary School in Kingston as a para-professional where she served under the school psychologist assisting students in overcoming their school routine adjustment problems. She retired from the school system in 2001. Rita said of all her employments, she enjoyed working for student enrichment as the most personally rewarding. Rita and her husband spent the past seven years living in southeastern Georgia to escape the ice and snow of N.Y. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, her sister Bobbie Natoli, children Christopher and Cynthia and her grandchildren Sarah, Hannah, Jacob, Taylor, Alexis and Abigail. Rita contracted polio at the age of two and silently suffered the emotional and physical pain of the disease consequences most of her adult life.
