Victor DeCicco Obituary

Victor P. DeCicco KINGSTON - Victor P. DeCicco, 92, of Second Avenue, Kingston, died Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at Ten Broeck Commons in Lake Katrine. Born Oct. 6, 1922 in East Kingston, he was a son of the late Carmine and Mary (Falsetti) DeCicco. As a young man, Victor was a member of the Civilian Conservation Corp. He served in the United States Army during World War II in the African and European Theaters of Operation. From 1955 to 1987 he was employed as a dock clerk for IBM Kingston until retirement. He was a Life Member of Joyce Schirick Post 1386 Veterans of Foreign War and a member of the IBM Quarter Century Club. Victor built radio controlled model airplanes, was a master of small hobby model engines and he could fix everything. On April 21, 1946 Victor married Louise Marcella (Stopczynski) DeCicco. Louise passed away on Nov. 25, 2007. His brothers and sisters, Louise Russano, Joseph DeCicco, Helen Abdallah, Lucinda Russano, James DeCicco, Anthony DeCicco, Theresa Mayone, Rose DeCicco, Emma DeCicco and Frank DeCicco all died previously. Victor is survived by many nieces and nephews and an extended family who called him “Uncle Vic”. His family would like to extend their appreciation and thanks for the care and compassion that the entire staff at Ten Broeck Commons gave to him. Funeral arrangements are under the guidance of the Joseph V. Leahy Funeral Home, Inc., 27 Smith Avenue, Kingston. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Sunday from 3 to 7 p.m. A military ritual provided by the Joyce Schirick Post 1386 VFW will take place at 6:30 p.m. A funeral procession will form 9 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church. Burial with military honors in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of contributions to the Ten Broeck Commons Activities Fund, 1 Commons Drive, Lake Katrine, N.Y. 12449 or the American Cancer Society Relay For Life, 121 Executive Drive, New Windsor, N.Y. 12553.

Uncle Vic...you built me a model plane when I was a kid and helped me with my car when I would come visit...you would take me around Kingston and show me various things use to be...and we could always talk with you...Will miss you a lot...Hugz, hard to find better uncles than we had in the family.
