Vincent Zucco Obituary

Vincent S. Zucco RED HOOK- Vincent S. Zucco, 83, of Red Hook, died Friday, June 27, 2014 at the Northern Dutchess Hospital in Rhinebeck. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts, and worked for IBM in Kingston as an Electrical Engineer. He retired in 1986. A veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Signal Corps during the Korean War, he was a member the Disabled American Veterans, a Life Member of the Red Hook Post #7765 VFW, and a member of the Harris Smith Post 524 American Legion in Tivoli. He was also a member of the Red Hook Antique Car Club, and St. Christopher’s Church in Red Hook. He served as President of the Board of Directors of the Red Hook Recreational Park, and served on the Red Hook Town Water Board. Born April 24, 1931, in Springfield, Mass., he was the son of the late Antonio and Teresa (Mazzaferro) Zucco. Vincent married Jean (Moles) Zucco on June 6, 1959 in Springfield, Mass. She survives him at home. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his three sons: Michael V. Zucco of Daytona Beach, Fla., Paul A. Zucco and his wife, Deana Bartley-Zucco, of Augusta, Ga., and James W. Zucco of Red Hook. A sister, Eleanor Geiger of Agawam, Mass., and five grandchildren: Zachary, Kasey, James M., Victoria Anne, and Karina Zucco, also survive him. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. on Wed. July 2nd, at St. Christopher’s Church, Red Hook, N.Y. Burial will be at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery, Red Hook. Friends may call at the Burnett & White Funeral Home, 7461 S. Broadway, Red Hook, on Tuesday, July 1st, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Memorial donations may be made in Vincent’s memory to the Red Hook Post #7765 VFW, P.O. Box 293, Red Hook, N.Y., 12571 or to the Harris Smith Post 524 American Legion, PO Box 59, Tivoli, N.Y., 12583. Arrangements are under the direction of Burnett & White Funeral Homes 7461 S. Sorry to hear this. Mr. Zucco was a very nice man and we loved to go back and visit the Zucco's whenever we were in Red Hook. Great neighbors in a great neighborhood. Thinking of you guys, Mrs. Zucco, Mike, Paul and Jimmy.

Very sorry to hear of Mr. Zucco's passing.
Mrs. Zucco, Mike, 'Chuck' and Jimmy I wish I could be there but cannot.
He was a good, good man and a true father to all of us boys in the ol' neighborhood.
