Adriane Hertzendorf

1941 - 2021

Adriane Hertzendorf, 80, of Glenville, New York passed away on Monday December 13 at home. She was born on August 12, 1941 in St. Louis, Missouri, to Elsa Kolin and Harry Meyer. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Queens College in 1963. She married Benjamin Hertzendorf on August 18, 1962, her beloved partner of 59 years. She liked to travel, having visited over 60 countries. She loved cross country skiing and hiking and looked at every petal and leaf with awe and appreciation. She was capable and talented, and began oil painting in her last 2 years of life and demonstrated great talent. She was a long-time member of Agudat Achim Synagogue and was a teacher and secretary in the religious school and enjoyed helping in the Sisterhood catering. She had an adult Bat Mitzvah at the age of 58 and enjoyed reading Torah. She supported her husband during his 48 years of service at Thomas Corners Fire Department, was a long-time member of the Ladies Auxiliary, and served as Secretary and Treasurer of the Fire District. She was incredibly thoughtful and kind, and bestowed great love to family and friends. She is survived by her husband, Benjamin, and her daughter Dr. Laurie Greenberg & Michael Winer, son retired U.S. Army Colonel Michael Hertzendorf & Jennifer Murray, granddaughter Elisa Greenberg & Sean Themea and granddaughter Danya Greenberg. She is also survived by grandchildren Caitlin, Cassidy, Cade and Cameron Hertzendorf She will be remembered with gratitude and love.
