Alice C. Poploski

It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of Alice Poploski on October 23, 2022. As she leaves us she walks into heaven and into the arms of her beloved husband Edward who passed away in January of 1988.

Alice was born October 31, 1924 to the late Katherine Dybas Popielarz and John Kulakiewicz in Amsterdam. She spent her formative years in Amsterdam, Plainfield, NJ, and New York City. She is also preceded in death by her step-father Michael Popielarz, her two sisters Florence Calamaras and her husband William, Wanda Palumbo and her husband Anthony. And her son-in-law Thomas Burnett and also her nephew and godson Michael Farrell.

She was married to Edward Poploski in St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church on February 2, 1945, in Oneonta, NY. After living in New York City for many years they moved to Glenville.

Alice was an avid crafter creating many crocheted blankets, dolls, jewelry, and a variety of other crafts. She worked as an aide at Mt. Loretto Rest Home and was a Hospice volunteer. In her later years she enjoyed working in retail stores as a product sampler and demo person.

She is survived by her daughters Katherine Burnett and Linda Marciniak and her husband Franklin. She leaves four grandchildren, Brenda Marciniak Campos (Danilo), Greg Burnett (Samantha), Kristie Marciniak, and Jason Burnett (Kathleen). She also leaves behind four adored great-grandchildren, Colin and Alexandra Burnett, Solomon Burnett, and Isabelle Campos. She also leaves many neices and nephews.

Sincere thanks to the dedicated nurses and aids at the Schenectady Center that cared for her and also to the Hospice nurses and volunteers for their care, visits and phone calls. A special thank you to Father Stephen Yusko of St Gabriel Archangel Church for his visit and prayers.

Friday October 28 Relatives and friends are asked to join the family on Friday October 28 at 11 a.m. at the Jendrzejczak Funeral Home, 200 Church St, Amsterdam, NY for a celebration of Alice's life.
