ANDY TAMBASCO Obituary

Mr. Andy (Anacleto) Tambasco, 60, of Daniel St., Amsterdam, died Friday, October 15, 2010, as the result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. Born in Amsterdam, NY, on March 17, 1950, son of Florenzo and Nelli J. LaMori Tambasco. He was a lifelong resident of Amsterdam and was a 1969 graduate of the former Wilbur H. Lynch High School. Andy later attended Fulton Montgomery Community College. Andy was a U.S. Navy Veteran, serving during the Vietnam War. He was currently employed at Target Corp. in Niskayuna. Mr. Tambasco was a communicant of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, where he served as an usher. Andy was also an avid New England Patriots fan. He married the former Joan Rogers on September 14, 1975. In addition to his loving wife, survivors include two children, Tony Tambasco of Staunton, VA, and Angela Joan Martin and her husband, Justin of Rome, NY. One sister, Frances Scancarello (James) of Potsdam, NY; sisters-in-law, Linda Blaha of Amsterdam and Valerie Mrozinski of Scotia; nieces, Jeanne Marie and Lynn Mrozinski; nephews, Christopher Blaha (Susan) and Michael Scancarello; loving friends, Mary Lou and Craig Freis; aunts, uncles and cousins also survive. Andy also leaves behind his cherished cat, "Pepper". A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, October 22, 2010, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, East Main St., Amsterdam, NY, with Father John Medwid as celebrant. Interment with U.S. Navy honors will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Amsterdam. The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, October 21, 2010, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Betz, Rossi and Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave., Amsterdam, NY 12010.
