Angelo DiDonna Obituary

Angelo A. DiDonna, 74, died at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady on Friday, August 14, 2009. He was born in Schenectady. He was the son of the late Anthony J. and Mary L. Caruso DiDonna. He graduated from Nott Terrace High School Class of 1952. He was a member of the school's track and wrestling team. He also served in the Army during the Korean War. Angelo graduated from Simmons School of Embalming and Mortuary Science in Syracuse, NY in 1960. He was a Truck Driver for General Dynamics, Groton, CT. Angelo was a member of Teamster Union Local 294 and the Amsterdam Elks Lodge. He was former partner in DiDonna's Restaurant and Marina on Saratoga Lake. He was predeceased by his wife, Gloria DiDonna. Survivors include his son, Anthony J. DiDonna of Saratoga Springs; his stepdaughters, Shirley Boatwright of Coeur d`alene, ID; Wanda Fournier of Spannay, WA and Joan Campbell of California; his brothers, August C. DiDonna of Ballston Spa, Anthony J. DiDonna of Murrells Inlet, SC, Joseph J. DiDonna and his wife, Amy of Saratoga Lake; his grandson, Logan DiDonna; several nieces and nephews and cousins; and his special friends, Ralph Nocera, Lenny Riccardi, and Dick Koretniki. Services will be on Tuesday, August 18, 2009 at 8:30 a.m. at Mevec Funeral Home, Inc., 224 Milton Avenue, Ballston Spa followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, 167 Milton Avenue, Ballston Spa. Committal service with full military honors will follow at St. Anthony's Cemetery, Glenville. Calling hours will be Monday, August 17th from 4 to 8 p.m. at Mevec Funeral Home. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Mary's Church, 167 Milton Avenue, Ballston Spa, NY 12020 or Alzheimer's Association of Northeastern New York, Pine West Plaza Building 4, Suite 405, Washington Avenue Ext.
