Anna C. Kelly ScotiaAnna C. Kelly of Scotia, NY died on September 23, 2014 at the age of 98. At the time of her death she resided at the Baptist Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Scotia. She had lived in Scotia for 29 years. Anna was born in the Bronx, NY on September 19, 1916. She was the daughter of the late George and Anna Loewer. She was married to Hugh R. Kelly for 45 years until his death in 1990. Anna joined the Triangle Girls in the Order of the Eastern Star in 1932. She was a Matron of the Hebron Chapter in the Bronx for several years and served in the same capacity for the Beukendaal and George Hope Eastern Star organizations in the Schenectady area. Anna worked at Macy's in Herald Square in New York City from 1934-1944. She also served as pastoral care secretary to Monsignor Collins at Misericordia Hospital in the Bronx from 1962-1984. Anna and her husband, Bob, spent many summers in Wurtsboro, NY where they made many friends and enjoyed life away from the big city. Anna was a lifelong member of the Lutheran Church, including Grace Lutheran and Epiphany Lutheran Church in the Bronx where she was president of the Church Council for many years. Anna became a member of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in Glenville, NY in 1985 and became involved in many church activities which she thoroughly enjoyed. She was a volunteer at St. Clare's Hospital from 1985-2009 in the dental office and the Elite Repeat Boutique. She was always willing to volunteer and took great pleasure in doing so. Anna's family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of H3 at Baptist Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for their compassion and kindness while caring for Anna. It was greatly appreciated. Her presence will be missed by all who loved her. In addition to her parents and husband, Anna was predeceased by her brother, George and grandson, William. She is survived by her sons, Robert (Deena) and Thomas (Kit). She is also survived by her grandchildren, Marlene L. Kelly, Thomas Kelly and Hugh Kelly; four great-grandchildren; three nieces, a nephew and many friends. Well done good and faithful servant. Relatives and friends will be received Friday, Sept. 26 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd. in Scotia-Glenville. A funeral service will be conducted Saturday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Deron Milleville presiding. Interment will be at Memory Gardens.
