ANTHONY P. SIMONE

Anthony P. Simone, 90, of Saratoga Road, was stricken Wednesday at his home. Tony was born in Schenectady, December 19, 1919, the son of the late Angelo and Josephine Civitello Simone. He graduated from Mont Pleasant High School and honorably served in the United States Army as a staff sergeant with Company C 260th Infantry Regiment, 65th Infantry Division. Tony received the Army of Occupation; European African Middle Eastern Campaign: WWII Victory and Good Conduct Medals. After returning from the war, Tony continued his 40 year long employment career with the General Electric Company, retiring in 1981. He was a communicant of the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Glenville, a member of the GE Quarter Century Club, the former St. Joseph's Leisure Club, and a former officer of the GOAL Credit Union. Tony was predeceased by his parents; and two sisters, Christine Morelli and Lillian DuPont. Survivors include his beloved wife, Catherine 'Kay' DeLuke Simone, whom he married July 21, 1946; loving sons, Michael Simone of Scotia and Mark Simone and his partner, Stephen Dvorscak of Albany; devoted grandchildren, Amber Simone and Nico Simone; loving sister, Louise Lane and her husband, Peter of Scotia; many nieces and nephews. Services will be held Monday morning at 8 a.m. from the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, Union at N. Jay Streets, and then to the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Glenville, where a Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Interment will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made in Tony's memory to the American Heart Association, 440 New Karner Road, Albany, NY 12205.
