Betty Vunk Obituary

Betty Cady Vunk Duanesburg - Betty Cady Vunk, 95, died February 11, 2024, peacefully at home with family at her side. Born in Schenectady, Betty Vunk moved to the Town of Duanesburg in 1940. A graduate of Delanson High School. Attended New York Teachers' College in Albany. Waitressed at the former Hub Restaurant in Duanesburg during the 1940s.
A former president and long standing member of the Duanesburg Senior Citizens, a former member of the Duanesburg Ambulance Corps, the Duanesburg Historical Society, Duanesburg Women's Republican Club and Duanesburg Fire Company Ladies' Auxiliary.
She was predeceased by her husband, Theodore R. Vunk, son, Bruce T. Vunk and son in law, Verne Houtzer. Survived by children: Lynn Dobbins (David), Bonny Houtzer, Scott Vunk (Janice); grandchildren: Pam Buchanan (Craig), Evan Dobbins (Heather), Rob Dobbins, Bruce Houtzer and Catherine Houtzer; Great grandchildren: Alex, Corey, Logan, Abigail, Nathan, Derek and Kyle.
There will be no calling hours. Private interment at Schenectady Memorial Park, Rotterdam. Arrangements by the White-Van Buren Funeral Home, 1779 Main Street, Delanson. Memorial contributions may be made to the Duanesburg Ambulance Corps, P.O. Box 130, Delanson NY 12056.
