Carol A. Baum

Carol A. Baum Rotterdam Carol A. Baum, 77, passed away Sunday, January 26, 2014 at home after a short illness. She battled pancreatic cancer for six months. Carol was born on May 23, 1936 in Schenectady. She was a graduate of Draper High School and was a member of the class of 1955. She enlisted into the U.S. Marine Corps, serving from 1955 until 1958. Carol was a self-employed hair dresser for 40 years. Carol was united in marriage to Carl W. Baum on January 15, 1965. Carol was a member of the Untied State's Marine Corps League as well as a member of Christ Church Episcopal. Her faith in God helped her to face her physical challenges with dignity, bravery, and grace. She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Alberta Lee Robinson. Carol is survived by her husband of 49 years, Carl W. Baum; sons, Timothy (T.J.) Baum and Martin Baum (Stacey); brother, Joseph Robinson; brothers-in law, Robert Baum and Thomas Baum (Donna); grandchildren, Nicholas, Nathan, and Lacey; great-grandchildren, Dominick and Patrick; and serveral nieces and nephews. Calling hours will take place on Friday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Avenue, Rotterdam. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a Memorial Service at Christ Church Episcopal, 970 State Street, Schenectady, Saturday, at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Christ Church Epsicopal would be gratefully accepted in Carol's name. Arragements have been entrusted to R.J. DeLuccia.
