1944 - 2022

Daniel Michael Caputo, 77 of Schenectady, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 in the presence of his partner John Pravato and his brother, Christian Caputo. Born on September 9, 1944. Dan was employed by Cosmopolitan Magazine as a Business Manager and previously as an account clerk with the Youth Bureau in New York State. Dan was a graduate of Cobleskill Technical College with an Associates Degree in Horticulture. He worked in the field and applied his skills to his love of gardening. Dan is survived by his loving partner of 43 years, John Pravato, his brother Christian and his wife Paula of Long Island, nieces, Michele Caputo and her husband Tim Sullivan, and their children, Liam and Owen of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Jennifer Caputo of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and Kristen Caputo, and her wife Cheryl Kelly, and their children, Nicholas and Alden, of Newton, Massachusetts.

Dan was known for his quiet kindness and generosity to a fault, to anyone in need. This love was extended to his partner, John who experienced, in their relationship his anticipation of his every need. Dan was also known for his love and care of his many pets and for his support of animal causes.

The family would like to thank the entire staff of Community Hospice of Schenectady for their loving and compassionate care.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2022 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the DeLegge Funeral Home.
