Elizabeth Aldrich Obituary

Elizabeth "Betty" Aldrich (nee: Barber), 78, of Scotia passed away peacefully, June 23, at her home with her loving family by her side. Betty was born in Atlanta, GA on June 6, 1931, the daughter of the late Neal and Frances (Willbanks) Barber. A Scotia resident most of her life she was married 59 years to Robert J. Aldrich. After raising her family she worked part-time for the Grand Union on Sacandaga Rd., a job she enjoyed immensely. Betty loved to bowl, bike, swim, dance, eat out and go shopping. For seventeen years she resided at Barefoot Bay, FL where she and Bob had many friends. The couple returned to live in Scotia. Betty will be remembered for her love of family, friends and dogs. She will surely be missed by all who knew her. She was predeceased by her son, Mark E. Aldrich. Survivors include her husband, Robert Aldrich of Scotia; her children, Debra L. LaPoint, Patricia A. Kirby of Cupertino, CA; four grandchildren, Corey LaPoint (Mary), James LaPoint (Kathy) of Troy, NY, Christine Kirby of Santa Cruz, CA and Robert Kirby of San Diego, CA; three great-grandchildren, Ryan, Aidan and Elizabeth La- Point. In honoring Betty's request, there will be no services. A private burial will be held at the convenience of the family at Fairview Cemetery in Amsterdam, NY. Memorial contributions in Elizabeth Aldrich's name may be made to Community Hospice of Schenectady, 1411 Union St., Schenectady, NY 12308. Bob & Family;
Memories of times gone bye.
