Frank Garone Obituary

Frank Garone SchenectadyFrank Garone, 89, formerly of Aknusti, Lake Delaware, Delhi and Lake Ronkonkoma, Long Island, passed away Friday, April 13, 2012, at The Glendale Home, Glenville. He was a passionate man! Born in Brooklyn, Sept. 13, 1922, he was the son of Anthony and Viola (Sinopoli) Garone and a WWII Army Veteran with the 80th Division in Europe. Thrice widowed; Irene Clark, Anita Toth and Mary Costanza. Surviving are sons, Frank Jr. (Carol) of Meredith and Eugene (Mary) of Niskayuna; daughters, Gladys Garone and Victoria Stiber, both of Presque Isle, ME; 12 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; and his very special friend, Mildren Figueroa of Schenectady, who kept his spirit full! Frank had a love of music all of his life. The Garone Family would like to express their gratitude to the Musician Family of the Capital District, who welcomed him and made him feel special! He loved you. And to the Niskayuna Senior Center and Outreach, who from his arrival in 2004, quickly became his new family and took care of him like their own. Thank You! We will all miss him! He was a member of the V.F.W. Post No. 2913, Patchogue, Long Island. Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. J. Patrick Hunt, Rector of St. James' Church, Lake Delaware, Tuesday, April 17, at the Hall & Peet Funeral Home, Delhi. Burial followed with military honors at Lake Delaware Cemetery. Remember him through the Disabled America Veterans.

Sincere, Proud, Caring, Thoughtful and a Real Charmer
He loved woodworking and shared many pieces with others. We loved to just sit and talk with him. He always had a story to tell.
