George R. LeVinus

George R. LeVinus Mechanicville - George R. LeVinus, 82, of Hemstreet Park, died peacefully in the comfort of his home on February 4, 2024, after a long illness. Born in Troy on January 13, 1942, son of the late Richard and Lena Archambault LeVinus, he was a 1959 graduate of Mechanicville High School, and later Hudson Valley Community College, where he studied construction.
George was proud of his career as a welder for General Electric Silicone Products, dedicated for 39 years until his retirement.
He was a longtime member, past fire chief, and line officer of the Hemstreet Park Fire Department. He was also an avid outdoorsman who especially enjoyed fishing, hunting and trapping.
Survivors include his loving wife of 61 years, Louise Pastore LeVinus, whom he married on October 21, 1962, sons and their wives, Richard and Nancy LeVinus of Franklin, NH, and Paul and Julie LeVinus of Londonderry, NH, sister Ann Theriault and Dolores LeVinus, both of Texas, and several nieces and nephews.
In keeping with George's wishes, services will be private and held at the convenience of the family with entombment at St. Paul's Cemetery.
