Harry Keith Christie CharltonHarry Keith Christie, 76, of Charlton, passed away on April 19, 2015 from frontal temporal dementia. Born in Schenectady on August 16, 1938, he was the son of the late Harry J. and Marion (nee: Lord) Christie. He was raised and educated in Schenectady. Harry proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. On February 21, 1970, Harry married Lynn Van derzee. Harry was employed as a machinist by General Electric Co. for 33 years until his retirement in 1998. In retirement, he volunteered for the American Red Cross, driving people to their medical appointments. Harry and Lynn divided their time between traveling, weekends on the Van derzee family farm and monthly visits to spend time with their grandchildren. Harry was an active and dedicated member of Burnt Hills United Methodist Church where he served as trustee and on several committees. In addition to his parents, Harry was predeceased by a son, Keith Christie, in 1977; a sister, Barbara Tweddale and a brother, Bruce J. Christie. Survivors include his wife, Lynn Christie of Charlton; their daughter, Beth (Richard) Lucas of Rockland, MA; his brother, Douglas Christie of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; two grandchildren, Jacob and Molly Lucas; one nephew, Michael J. (Tina) Christie of Troy; and two nieces, Carrie A. Christie of Albany and Jessica (Richard) Stills of Coconut Creek, FL. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at The White Funeral Home, 264 N. Ballston Ave., Scotia followed by interment in Grove Cemetery, Coeymans. The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
