Harry Lindner Obituary
Bud was born in Pittsburgh, PA and moved to Troy to attend RPI where he graduated with a Bachelors (class of 1957) and Masters in Chemical Engineering. Bud proudly served in the US Army. Following graduation, Bud had a forty year career at GE Silicones until his retirement in 2000.
Bud's faith was the foundation of his life. He was very active in his church and the Full Gospel Business Men's Fellowship. He enjoyed teaching in church, leading bible studies in their home and playing his violin during Sunday morning services.
He was an avid RPI alumnus supporting men's and women's hockey and serving on the reunion committee many years. He was the recipient of an alumni key in 1982 and The Albert Fox Demers Medal in 2012.
He enjoyed traveling with Marge, following RPI hockey to many away games, and attending the NCAA Frozen Four for several years. Trips to Cape Cod and Myrtle Beach were some of his favorites and he always enjoyed visiting his children and grandchildren. Bud was passionate about music and loved to attend Philadelphia Orchestra concerts at SPAC each summer. In retirement, Bud rediscovered his love for playing violin and joined the Music Company Orchestra as a violinist.
In addition to his parents Bud was predeceased by an infant daughter.
Bud is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Marjorie, his children Patricia (Richard), Barbara (Bill) and Timothy (Julie) and his grandchildren, John (Jenna), Michael (Alison), David (Ashley), Daniel (Michelle), James, Erika, and Anna.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Rd., Watervliet, New York on Thursday July 28, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Friday July 29, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. at Reach Out Fellowship Church, 218 Osborne Road, Albany, NY. Burial will follow the service at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville at 2:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Reach Out Fellowship Church, 218 Osborne Road, Albany, NY 12205, or to the Music Company Orchestra online at mcomusic.org or to RPI - Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Gifts Processing Center P.O. Box 3164 Boston, MA 02241-3164 in Bud's memory.

Dear Marge:
We were so sad to get the news of Bud's death. During Jake's time at RPI, we really enjoyed spending time with you and Bud sitting up by the pep band at the RPI home hockey games. We know that Jake and his teammates also appreciated the two of you welcoming the boys into your home throughout the season. Please know that you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.

On behalf of the York family we would like to extend our heartfelt condolences to the Lindner family. We only had the pleasure of spending one day in Buds company when visiting our son at RPI. Such a pleasant intelligent man. Marge & Bud made a huge impact extending invitations to the hockey "boys" opening their home & no small task feeding them on occasion. Marge you are in our thoughts.
