Herb Kopper Obituary

A long-time resident of Galway, Herb Kopper passed away at 88 of natural causes September 13 near his son's residence in Lubbock, Texas. A highly accomplished artist, Herb was a graduate of Kenmore High School near Buffalo, NY and the Pratt Institute of Art in Brooklyn, NY. He

was predeceased by his wife Mary Lynn and daughter Mary Kaye. He is survived by his son Herb (Colleen) and grandchildren: Brandon (Cassie), Nick (Jacklynn), David, and Olivia and his sister Karen. Herb was a proud veteran of the USMC and, in retirement, taught art in the area and was active in numerous local civic organizations including the Galway Ambulance Service (25 years), Saratoga County Council of Fish and Game Club, The New York State Military Museum, Galway Lions, and many others. Memorial Service plans will be simple, with the burial of he and Mary Lynn in the Galway Cemetery. Any gifts may be in his honor to the Galway Ambulance.

Herb, I will always remember our time together. I so enjoyed your stories from the war, Wendy's Chicken Sandwiches and of course Bubba. It was a pleasure taking care of you.

Heb and MaryLynn
Our County Council will surley miss you two as you both were spark plugs for our sport. Always plugging for us thru your wit and wisdom in the monthly minutes. I personally will miss you guys going back over 40 years and will certainly see both of you up there in the wild blue yonder, doing our thing--HUNTING AND FISHING. I can go on and on but.
Rest in Peace both of you. I love you
Ron
