I'm sad to hear of John's passing.

I worked with John at IBM back in the 1990's. I was new to the Albany office and John was a great mentor to me.

I remember several of us went to a IBM SE Symposium in Miami and I had the opportunity to play golf with John at the Doral Blue Monster.

I also remember playing my best round of golf with John in the IBM golf league. On the last hole I made a birdie putt. John's dry humor, he says "your typical 30' double break birdie putt"...

My deepest condolences to the Hanshaw Family & Friends

Hello... When I just saw this post; I got a lump in my throat. I worked with John at IBM for about 15 years. He was a real pro. He was an even better human being than he was a co-worker. I liked and admired him immensley. I can truly say that my little corner of the world was made a better place, because john was part of it for a time. It was a pleasure and a privilege to have known him. I am so sorry for your loss. He will be missed.

I am so sorry to hear of John's passing. I spent 20 years in the IBM Albany Branch Office and John was one of the Senior Guys when I shoed up in '84. He was always pleasant, positive and helpful and acted as a mentor to me and many others in the branch. I also had the pleasure of having him beat up on me in the IBM Golf League for many years, where he was not as "accommodating" :)...
He was part of a culture that defined what it meant to be a Proud IBM'er back in the day. Unfortunately, those days have passed us all by...
God Bless...
