Keith Stanton Obituary

Keith Fitch Stanton Saratoga SpringsKeith Fitch Stanton of Saratoga Springs and Clearwater, FL, and formerly of Farmington, NY, passed away peacefully on Wed., Feb. 15, 2012 in Florida after a brief illness and a courageous battle with heart disease. Born on Oct. 4, 1938 in Albany, NY, he was the son of the late Keith E. and Junia Fitch Stanton. Raised in Watertown, NY, Keith was a U.S. Army veteran, a graduate of The Manlius School, Jefferson County Community College and SUNY Brockport. He received his master's in education at Nazareth College and was a dedicated elementary school teacher at Palmyra-Macedon Central Schools for 34 years. Keith loved all sports, trivia, good food, golf, cats, and most of all, his family. Survivors include his best friend and wife of 39 and a half years, JoAnne (DeMarco) and his beloved daughter, Jennifer, who were at his side throughout his final days. He is also survived by his two adored grandsons, Will and Keane, and their father, Daniel Stanton of Connecticut. Relatives and friends may call from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 20, 2012 at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the family plot in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, 2501 Troy Rd., Niskayuna, NY. Memorial donations may be made to the Animal Protective Foundation, 53 Maple Avenue, Scotia, NY 12302 or to the wonderful people who gave such compassionate care to Keith and concern to JoAnne and Jennifer in their time of need at Suncoast Hospice House, 164 West Lake Road, Palm Harbor, Florida 34684.
