Kevin Maresca Obituary

Kevin Maresca, 41, of Niskayuna and Denver, passed away suddenly on February 9 at his home in Colorado. Kevin was born in Albany, graduated from Niskayuna High School and earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Indiana University. Kevin worked in public relations in Los Angeles and Denver; prior to moving West he was a writer/editor with the NYS Assembly. He enjoyed movies, music, fitness, and being outdoors, especially in the Rockies. Kevin had a wonderfully irreverent sense of humor that somehow managed to never offend. He was hysterically, outrageously funny. He was generous, compassionate and considerate. He was warm and welcoming; strong and adventurous. He was, simply, magical. He was a good man, a good friend, and a good son and the world's "most okay-est" brother. Kevin is survived by his parents, Frank and Geri; and sisters, Lisa and Meredith. In lieu of flowers, please watch The Big Lebowski, listen to Black Sabbath, go for a run, pet a dog, and make a donation to Project Angel Heart in Denver.

Will miss you, Kevin. Remember most talking old Metallica albums, Tarantino movies, and hearing metal blaring from across the hall. Still think of you when I hear Ozzy on the radio.

So sorry Kevin. We were classmates. I know we weren't close friends but we were always together in Homeroom and also because of our last names. The M's stuck together. Rest in peace. And prayers to your family

Really miss Kevin. He was such a great brother and friend. Very kind, funny, and smart. Loved talking Sabbath, Ozzy, and metal in general with him. I'll never forget the Ozzy show at the Pepsi Center, he got us 18th row on the floor, it was an incredible time. Love You Brother

The only person in the world who Kevin could call cousin. When he was a super cool guy in LA and can up to Northern California for visits he never acknowledged the awkward teenager-ness of his little cousin. Love you Kevin and thinking of you Aunt Geri, Uncle Frank, Lisa and Meredith

Kevin was a wonderful guy. We were neighbors when he lived in LA. It wasn't long before we became great friend. Kevin was extremely generous with his time and would walk my dog for me with his everyday because I had a bad leg. We shared many laughs and when my leg was good we would take walks together. He was so much fun.
We talked about his family, relationships, music, movies and he loved those White Russians. I miss Kevin dearly and will never forget his kindness. My heart goes out to his entire family. Please accept my most sincere condolences.
