Lawernce Wollaber

1955 - 2021

Lawrence Wollaber, 66, of Mineral Springs Road, died Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2021, in the comfort of his home with his loving family at his side. Born April 5, 1955, in Rome, NY, he was the son of Forest and Winifred (Roberts) Wollaber and stepson of Joan Wollaber. Larry was a 1973 graduate of the former Cobleskill Central School. He was a proud member of the Teamsters Union and had worked as a Schoharie County Correctional Officer and most recently a New York State Court Officer in Cooperstown. He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying and cultivating the land in Summit and passing on his respect for nature. His enjoyment of the outdoors led him to hunt, snowmobile and camp with his family and friends and take long walks in the woods with his dogs. A wonderful family man and a phenomenal Dad. Larry was a premier jokester, often playing pranks on his children and their friends. Cherishing his love and memories are his wife, Jeanette (Rickard) Wollaber, whom he married Nov. 1, 1980; two children: Steven Wollaber of Rome, NY and Sara Wollaber of Cobleskill and her daughter, Emmi; his siblings: Bruce (Debbie) Wollaber of Summit, Pam Wollaber of Londonderry, NH, Mary Ann (Kenneth) Wollaber-Bryan of Cobleskill, Douglas Terrell of Atlanta, GA, and Stephanie (Craig) Jock of Cobleskill and several nieces and nephews. Predeceasing Larry were his parents and his brother, Steven. Family and friends are invited to a period of visitation Sunday, September 19, 2021 from 2PM to 4PM at the Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm Street Cobleskill, NY 12043. The funeral service will be held at 11AM on Monday, September 20, 2021, at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, with his cousin, Rev. Robert Wollaber officiating. Burial will be in Summit Cemetery immediately following. All in attendance need to have a facial covering.
