LINDA DIEHL Obituary

Linda C. Diehl, 66, of Scotia, passed away Saturday, May 15, 2010, after a long illness at her home surrounded by her family and loved ones. Born March 8, 1944 in Lake Placid to the late Award and Mabel (Mitchell) Campbell, she was a lifetime area resident. She was an x-ray technician for 20 years, co-owned Harmony Harvest House Store in Galway for nine years, and was with the Scotia Police Dept. for seven. She married John J. Diehl on April 14, 1972. She was a member of Metrobelles Women's Barbershop Chorus, leader of a Girl Scout troop for four years, past president of Electric City Clown Alley, and Clowns of America International as Pea Nut and Granny old Farth. Also as a member of Camp Sundown Clown Alley which donated all the time and monies to XP camp for the children she loved. She is survived by husband, John J. Diehl, of 39 years; and lifelong friend, Lucy J. Spoth. She was dearly loved by her Goddaughter, Jennifer Bulley (Adam LaPierre); and her niece, Joan Fuschino (Joel); and all her relatives and friends. Her passing will leave a big emptiness in our lives. A special thanks to Cathy Mackey, TOTS the clown for her love and caring. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church, Scotia. Calling hours on Tuesday morning from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Cremation in Vale Cemetery Crematorium, Schenectady. Contributions may be made to XP Society, 437 Snydertown Rd., Caryville, NY 12521. Arrangements by Bekkering-Ellis Funeral Home, Inc., 1 Mohawk Avenue, Scotia, NY 12302.
