Robert Dressel

Robert "Buzz" Dressel Schenectady - Robert Roy Dressel, 85, died at home on May 24, 2024 with his longtime partner Barbara at his side. Born on June 16, 1938, he was son of the late Raymond Sr. and Mary (Darling) Dressel.
Robert was born in Vermont and grew up in Watervliet. At age 2 he became paralyzed, but he never let that define him as he led a life that many would consider quite remarkable. He loved the outdoors as most of his favorite pastimes involved hiking, fishing, hunting, and being in the woods. Bob became an electrician because he couldn't stand the thought of being stuck at a desk all day, and both as a friend and business man, he was kind and giving.
He was predeceased by his parents, Ray and Mary, his siblings; Raymond Jr. (Mary), Frances (Don) Beebe, and Pat (Robert) Caulford. He is survived by his longtime significant other Barbara Perry and "Step-daughter" Jennifer (John) Zacharek as well as cousins, nephews and great nieces & nephews.
Robert's family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to his Community Hospice team, for all they did.
A funeral service will be celebrated Thursday, May 30, 2024 at 12 p.m. at Parker Bros. Memorial Funeral Home, Watervliet, with interment following the service in Memory Gardens Cemetery and Memorial Park. All are invited to visit with Robert's family before the service, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, those who wish to remember Robert in a special way may consider a donation to the Hudson-Mohawk Chapter of the Pioneer Gas Engine Assn., PO Box 393, Schoharie, NY 12157.
