Dear Veena and Sanjiv: just heard about Vedji as I was trying to look for his phone number. We used to talk on the phone until a few years ago and, after Covid, somehow I could not reach him when I tried to call. Needless to say, I shall always remember him as a wonderful, kind, and caring person, and his visit and stay at our house in Northern Virginia when he came to the DC area many years ago. I worked under him at Olin Library as a student at Cornell and that's how I got to know him. I had also spent a couple of nights at his house in Syracuse when I came there for a job interview. He was one of the nicest people I had met at Cornell, and he always supported and stood by me.
My heartfelt condolences to his grieving family. May his soul rest in peace and attain moksha, as they say in India. -- Prita Chathoth

Condolences to Veena, Sanjiv, Kate and the family. Ved was my apartment mate for two years while at Cornell and then continual friendship ever since!
Ved had a great sense of humor. I still repeat the jokes to friends that Ved used to tell as a room mate.

Eighteen years ago, I met Ved. We were walking and he stopped and started talking. Such a gentleman and loves people. When people in his community needed care, he would reach to me. Because of him, I had a lot of jobs caring for his friends and I where I am today. He treated me with dignity, respect etc. It´s a blessing meeting you and your lovely wife Veena. I will never forget all you´ve done for me. May you rest In Peace Ved. My deepest sympathy to Veena, Sanjiv and family.
