Victoria Ferraro Obituary

Victoria "Jean" Ferraro, formerly Jean Jurczynski, 89 of Glenville, NY passed away on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at Saratoga Hospital. Jean was born on November 24, 1931 in Amsterdam, NY where her beloved parents the late John and Victoria Tuchorski, raised Jean and her seven older siblings. Jean graduated from Wilbur H. Lynch High School in Amsterdam, NY in 1949. She married the late John Frank Jurczynski in 1952 and raised four children with John in Rotterdam, NY. After raising her children, Jean had careers at the General Electric Company, Coplon's and the Dunbar Clothing Store in Schenectady, NY, where Jean was once The Downtown Salesperson of the Month. Jean always had a passion for fashion and always made sure her children looked sharp as they headed out to school. She herself remained stylish and beautiful until the end. Even as she struggled with kidney failure, diabetes and other health concerns, she managed to keep an upbeat attitude and an appearance that made you think she would beat any illness that came her way. Jean was predeceased by her husband of 42 years John Frank Jurczynski in 1994 and more recently by her husband of 13 years Arthur A. Ferraro in 2010. Jean was also predeceased by her seven siblings Sophie (Chester) Jedrzejewski, Jessica (Klem) Czelusniak, Henry (Lottie) Tuchorski, Helen (Leo) Prylo, William (Ann) Tuchorski, Irene (Harold) McDermott and Leonard (Evelyn) Tucker. Jean is survived by her children Gail Jurczynski (Jean's best friend and caregiver) of Glenville, NY, Dian (Brett) VanDerVolgen of Edinburg, NY, John (Ann) Jurczynski of Plymouth, NH, Gary (Staci Covkin) Jurczynski of Altamont, NY and niece Janice (Jedrzejewski) Keller who was loved like a daughter. Jean is also survived by her four loving grandchildren Keith (Deanna) Jurczynski of N. Easton, MA, Jennifer Lynn (Jonathan Brisson) Jurczynski of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Jack Jurczynski of Altamont, NY, Ally Jurczynski of Altamont, NY and her three very active great grandchildren John Jurczynski, Michael Jurczynski and Ben Jurczynski of N. Easton, MA. In addition, Jean is survived by her furry child, companion and protector for the past 14 years, Jeter. A memorial celebration will (hopefully) take place this coming summer when it will be safer for family and friends to congregate. Memorial contributions may be made to Saint Jude's Children's Research Hospital attention "Jean Ferraro Memorial Fund".
