VIRGINIA PULASKI Obituary

Virginia Pulaski passed away April 12, 2010, surrounded by the love of her family and in God's peace. Born on May 4, 1919, in Schenectady, NY, to Sylvester and Carmella Fusco, Virginia was one of six children. She has two loving sisters, Katherine Iacabucci and Mary Hazlett, and was predeceased by Anthony and Carmen Fusco, and sister, Betty Grasso. On May 24, 1959 Virginia married John R. Pulaski, and in March of 1960 begot their only child, now Lisa B. Ford, wife to Thomas W. Ford of Bristol, NH. Virginia grew up on love and hard work on her families farm in Guilderland, NY, and had many fond memories of her youth, accompanying her father to market in their horse and buggy being one of those she held dear. She worked for General Electric and in later years for The Visiting Nurses Association from which she retired. Family and friends shared many wonderful times, often eating her fabulous cooking and baking while enjoying games and laughter. Until her mid eighties Virginia had a vegetable garden she tenderly cared for with her husband and took great joy in sharing every harvest. Another great pleasure up until the day before her death was her love of words by the challenge of the crossword, jumble, and other puzzles. No morning was complete until she had the paper and did her puzzles, her recall and varied knowledge being a constant source of awe by her family. Virginia's sensitivity to others, be it in sharing their joy or their sadness, was always genuine and an innate part of her being. Love, empathy, kindness, wit, and humor were her nature. Dignity, humility, and grace remained hers unto death and her conviction to her faith sustained her even as her body failed. Her prayers were always for others peace and comfort, and she remained grateful to God for the goodness in her life even when she struggled herself. She will be remembered as a gentle yet strong loving woman with a very tender heart. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, April 17, 2010, at Immaculate Conception Church, Rt. 50, in Glenville at 10:30 a.m. with reception to follow at the church hall. There will be no calling hours. For further information please contact www.glenvillefuneralhome.com

Hi Lisa:

Clint saw the notice about your Mom and called me yesterday. I'm so glad I called your Mom back in February when I was in Schdy! I am thinking of you and Tom and your Dad and the rest of your family. As you know, I always liked your Mom. What a good cook! Those chocolate cakes with cherries inside were the best! And you were the apple of her eye. I'm thinking of you. Love, Susan

I am so sorry for your loss Lisa and Mr Pulaski. I remember Mrs Pulaski as clear as day when I visited your home in my younger days. She always had a warm and welcoming way.I remember visiting awhile back and sipping Baily's in the living room in real petite sipping glsses! Nice memories mean so much.

Love,

Jaye Graham Willis
