Yoshie Krosky

Yoshie Krosky, Age 90, passed away 7/22/22 at Saratoga Hospital.

Yoshie was born in Tokyo Japan and worked on the military base where she met her husband Chester Krosky Jr who was in the Army stationed in Japan. They married and moved to the US with two babies when she was 25 years old.

Yoshie was soft spoken, kindhearted and admired for her strength, determination and perseverance. While being a mother to four young children, she attended evening classes at the area high school to become fluent in English and took lessons to learn how to drive. She was always willing to learn and there wasn't anything she couldn't do inside or outside of the home.

She was a gifted seamstress and worked from home making dresses for the wives of area doctors, prom and wedding gowns for families, Quilts, beautiful clothing including Halloween costumes for her children and grandchildren. In addition, she worked part-time in the evening for Dr. Glen Cooley on Union Street.

With her earnings, she purchased a summer home for her family on Ballston Lake which later became the permanent family residence. Yoshie loved to cook mastering American, Italian, Polish and Japanese cuisine. She made desserts every night and was an outstanding baker. She taught her daughters and granddaughters the art of baking while instilling her words that the nicest gift you can ever give someone is homemade.

She enjoyed entertaining friends and family at the lake with summer barbeques and clambakes.

She and Chester loved fly fishing, and their picture was featured in an article in the Schenectady Gazette regarding couples who enjoyed fishing together. She also enjoyed square dancing and polka dancing.

She is predeceased by her husband of 41 years Chester Krosky Jr, her 10 year old daughter Suzan, and her parents Yozo & Iku of Japan.

She is survived by her Son James Krosky (Suzanne) of Lakeside MT, her Daughters Nancy Capritta (Cal) of Sarasota FL, Kathleen Logan of Ballston Lake, Granddaughters Suzanna Ritchey of Mechanicville, Kristen Dupont (Shawn) of Bradenton FL, Great Grandchildren Mason & Austin Dupont and Hannah Ritchey.

The family would like to thank the staff on D2 and Reverend Laura Mitchell at Saratoga Hospital for their loving kindness, heartfelt compassion and the peaceful comfort provided to Yoshie and family members during this most difficult time.
