Dear Mr. and Mrs. Richardson and Patrick,
I realized the other day that I have known Alex since we were three years old. We didn’t become friends until we rode the bus together, but it’s weird to think back and realize I’ve known him almost my entire life. When my dad passed away Alex became more than a friend, but a like brother to me. He watched out for me, and sometimes I didn’t even know it. Recently I found out that when my boyfriend and I started dating Alex told him that he better not hurt me. Those few words brought me to tears. Like the song ‘A Good Man’ says, to me he was always a “brother, neighbor and a friend. He was a good man.” He is loved and missed by all.

Dear Pat, Carol and Patrick,
I know the pain is unbearable. I promise you that one day, you will be able to remember Alex with a smile, not just tears. What an incredibly talented, handsome, funny, well loved young man he was! It breaks my heart to know the unbelievable sadness you are going through. I am so grateful to you for being there for us after Mike's passing. Please let us be there for you: no matter what you need. Alex will always be in our hearts, as will you. Remember, you have a whole town that loves you and will never forget your wonderful son.

Dear Richardson family,
Though I've never officially met Alex, I think of him often as I do your family. My son Brandon knew Alex and told me that he was always a nice guy, very funny and a great football player. He also said he was the one in the weight room always encouraging the players to work harder and to do their best. My husband and I recall the often announced "#34, Alex Richardson" at the Varsity FB games!
Just reading the all these entries tells us so much about a young man who has touched many lives.
May every one of these wonderful memories and thoughts bring peace to your family.

Richardson Family,
My son was one of Alex's many friends from school. After reading all of these wonderful tributes to Alex, it became very clear to me, how blessed he was to have you all for his family. Without you he could not have touched so many lives in such a positive way. He carried many pieces of each of you within himself. What a gift he had for making people laugh. Many other lives are a little brighter because of Alex.
Alex's life was also blessed in a very special way. His entire life was about having fun and doing what he loved. Spending time with friends and family, playing sports, being adventurous, but mostly living his life to the fullest. Not many of us are able to accomplish this even with the gift of time.
Without a doubt, it is not fair that Alex was taken from you far too soon, but is is also obvious that he made a difference in this world for the better.
I can not begin to tell you how deeply saddened I am about Alex's passing. I only hope that you will find some comfort in knowing that you are in my heart, thoughts and most of all prayers. I pray that one day soon your sorrow will not be so heavy and that you will find happiness and peace once again.
May you find the strength and comfort from our community during this difficult time.

My son Mitchell Paglia played with Alex this past season. All of the tributes are WONDERFUL! However there is one thing that I have not seen addressed. You see my father passed in 1978. As I made my way to the hospital floor to say good bye I ran into the Priest that gave my father Last Rites. I said "Father what now"? He said " Son pray to your father". Alex,
no mater how each of us remember you whether as a son, grandson, brother, nephew, cousin, friend, boyfriend, classmate, teammate, player, or student. We will always remember you flying around the bases or down the football field like the wind. You were amazing to watch fly. Although we wish you were still here with your feet on the ground we know you're in a better place flying in a different way now. I am deeply saddened that I did not get a chance to formally be friends with Alex. I would see him in the hallways everday between periods and his smile would bring up the day for me. Alex we miss you man, not a moment goes by when we football guys dont think about ya, its hard without you around man. You were one of a kind, you were a great football player and we miss you so much, to us you were a mentor, a teammate, and most of all a friend. Alex was a wonderful person to us all.
Go ahead and cry and get angry at God for his doing,
Alex was just another teenage boy trying to live an adventurous life.
We all know that parents aren't supposed to bury their children, but we are supposed to bury our parents.
Why did Alex have to leave us, I mean we will all one day rejoice with him in heaven, but why did God have to take one of our friends now and cut his life so short.
Everyday gone by we will miss him even more,
But we know that he is in a better place soaring free with God.
There will be no more pain in his life now, and he will live eternally in the heavens.
And during these times of loosing a loved one, we should all just be together and pray for him.
But if there was one thing Alex's would've wanted for us, that would be just to go on with our lives, and he wants us all to know that he will always be with us... in spirit.

Alex was an amazing person with amazing character, he was very friendly and tried to make friends with everyone. He was a star athlete and a hardworker. He always knew how to make me laugh and had a goal to make people happy. Sadly I did not know Alex but my nephew went to school with him. My son, Eric, was 18 when he died in a car accident and I know of the pain that your family will have to deal with. My surviving son and I talk about Eric a lot, keeping him close in our hearts. Your love for Alex will never end and I hope you will feel him close to you. Its always been Human Nature for a Son or Daughter to burry their parents one day. But for The Richardsons it was a different story. Alex was an AMAZING person. I have so many memories. He cared about everyone. His passion for football was amazing. He will be greatly missed and never forgotten.
