Antoinette Russo "Toni" Anderson

Antoinette "Toni" Russo Anderson was born on January 1, 1918, at home on Roscoe Street in Chicago, to Charles and Maria (nee Badali) Russo, with a midwife attending. She died June 17, 2024, at A Loving Heart Assisted Living in Surprise, Arizona.

Toni and her husband, the late Jim Anderson were married on November 22, 1941, at St. Francis Xavier Church in Wilmette, IL. After the war, the couple moved to Park Ridge and later to Mount Prospect and Prospect Heights. For over thirty-five years, they attended daily Mass at St. Alphonsus Liguori, Wheeling, where they were active in parish life. An avid homemaker, Toni loved her children, her five siblings, and their families. She and her husband made over forty trips to Europe, the Middle and Far East.

Toni is survived by her children, Susan Anderson (the late Larry Robinson) and Thomas (Janis) Anderson; grandchildren, Sumie (Denise) Abdishi, Stephen Anderson (Lana), and Stacey (Kevin) Klein; great-grandchildren, Brittany, Tyler, and Zachary Abdishi; Sophia and Sara Klein.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 76 years; her siblings, Marina (the late Jim Annoreno), Mary (the late Vincent Conway), Rosie (the late Frederick Ellsworth), Andrew Russo (the late Eloise); Josephine (the late Herbert Mendel); as well as her parents.

Visitation from 10:00 am until time of mass 11:00 am, Saturday June 29th, 2024, at St. Alphonsus Liguori Catholic Church, 411 N. Wheeling Road, Prospect Heights, IL 60070. Interment Calvary Cemetery, Evanston, IL.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Alphonsus Liguori Catholic Church.
