Barbara Lehman Obituary

Barbara Lehman

Barbara Lehman passed away in Tequesta, Florida, on October 6. Barbara was born July 7, 1951, in Union City, Pennsylvania, to parents F. Leslie and Florence K. Goldinger, the second of three daughters.

Barbara graduated from Linn-Mar High School in Marion, Iowa, and subsequently achieved a Bachelor's degree from the University of Iowa in 1973. She spent her entire working career as an executive with Sears Corporation, primarily in human resources. After marriage to her dear husband Richard A. (Dick) Lehman, the couple lived in the Milwaukee area initially and then in Hawthorn Woods, Illinois while working. When Barb retired from the position of director of transformation communications with Sears, after 30 years with the retailer, they relocated to Arizona, where they maintained homes in Sun City and Prescott.

Barbara was an outstanding seamstress and embroiderer, and her family and friends received many personalized items lovingly handcrafted by Barbara. She loved music and concerts, and was also active with Big Sisters of America. She enjoyed thoroughbred racing and at one time owned Illinois-bred horses in partnership with some of her Sears colleagues.

All who knew her will fondly remember her energetic zest for living, her quick sense of humor and her generous spirit. She was predeceased by her parents; and husband, Dick. She is survived by sisters, Nancy Saunders and Linda (Dennis Downing) Goldinger; nephew, Jim (Debra) Forrister and niece, Amy (Bob) Curtis; as well as grandnieces and nephew. She will be greatly missed.

Donations to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America would honor her memory.
